Hey y’all, I’m Raven – the hands, heart, and soul behind Southern Roots Organic Cabinet.

I was born and raised in the heart of Cajun country, Southern Louisiana, where southern hospitality is a way of life and community means everything. My childhood was filled with small-town charm, riding horses and ATVs, fishing and hunting with family, camping under the stars, and eating fresh meals from my daddy’s garden or from the wild game and fish he’d bring home. Life was simple, rich, and rooted in the rhythms of the land—lessons that have stayed with me and continue to inspire the way I create today.

 

I’ve been a nurse for almost 30 years, and caring for others has always been at the center of who I am. Nursing has blessed me with a lifetime of experience in helping and healing, but over time, God placed it on my heart to care for people in another way—through the purity and comfort of natural skincare. What started with small batches in my own kitchen became a passion that grew into Southern Roots Organic Cabinet, a line of soaps, face creams, serums, body butters, and balms made to nourish and restore.

 

I met my husband, Chad, while he was on active duty in the Army, stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. After he finished his service, we felt the call to find a place to settle down and raise our family. We spent a few years in Arizona, where our daughter, Lyla Grace, was born and grew up, before finding our forever home in Idaho. Living near the mountains, spending time outdoors, and being part of a community that values family, respect, and regenerative farming has felt like coming full circle—a new piece of paradise that feels just like home.

 

Every product I create carries a piece of my roots. My soaps are crafted with grass-fed & finished beef tallow, slowly and carefully dry-rendered the old-fashioned way, blended with raw goat milk, buttermilk, or cow milk when called for in my recipes. I pair those traditional ingredients with organic clays, botanicals, and infusions to create products that are as honest and natural as the land they come from. From creamy face creams and rich body butters to nourishing serums and old-world tallow soaps, each jar and bar is made to honor heritage, celebrate the land, and care for your skin in the gentlest way possible.

 

To me, Southern Roots Organic Cabinet is more than skincare—it’s family, faith, and tradition bottled up and shared with others. It's Southern hospitality and prayer poured into every product, a reminder of slow country days, and a way of carrying my roots with me while offering a little piece of comfort to you.
