🪵Smoky. Earthy. Southern Strong.

Deep in the Southern bayou, there’s a warmth that rises from smoky pine, old timber, and slow-aged bourbon. That’s the soul of Bayou Bourbon Pine Tar, a bold goat-milk–tallow bar crafted for folks who like their soap rugged, dark, and unapologetically natural.

Made with real pine tar, raw goat milk, and our signature grass-fed & finished tallow, this bar brings a powerful cleanse with skin-comforting goodness. The scent leans warm, wood-smoked, bourbon-sweet, and a little wild — like cold air rolling off the water and a campfire crackling under moss-covered oaks.

A bar for hardworking hands, outdoorsmen, and anyone who loves that backwoods Southern grit with a touch of refinement.

This is Southern roots, bottled in a bar.

Ingredients:

**Dry Rendered, Organic Grass-Fed and Finished Beef Suet Tallow – Rendered in-house, a deeply moisturizing and nutrient-rich fat, tallow creates a firm, long-lasting bar with a rich, creamy lather. Packed with skin-loving vitamins A, D, E, and K, it supports elasticity, soothes dryness, and nourishes sensitive skin.

**Organic Babassu Oil – Lightweight yet deeply nourishing, organic babassu oil is pressed from the kernels of the babassu palm native to Brazil. Rich in lauric and myristic acids, in soap, babassu offers a creamy, bubbly lather and acts as a gentle alternative to coconut oil — ideal for sensitive skin. Its soothing, cooling properties help calm dryness and irritation, making it a perfect addition to our nourishing tallow soaps.

**Organic Castor Oil – Known for its exceptional lather-boosting properties, castor oil enhances the soap’s bubbles and provides a smooth, conditioning feel on the skin. It also helps retain moisture, making it a great addition for sensitive skin.

*Alkanet Root–Infused Olive Pomace Oil - This antioxidant-rich oil is slow-infused with alkanet root, a traditional herb known for its gentle skin-soothing properties. The result is a nourishing infusion that helps calm irritation while delivering a deep, natural hue—from burgundy to rich mahogany—in cold process soap. Rich in essential fatty acids, this blend supports soft, balanced skin while adding rustic beauty to every bar.

*Pine Tar - A time-honored ingredient used for generations, pine tar is prized for its deep cleansing, soothing, and restorative properties—especially for troubled or dry skin. Naturally derived from pine wood through a slow-burning process, it brings a rich, smoky aroma and a dark, earthy hue to soap.

In cold process soap, pine tar helps balance oily skin, calm irritation, and may offer support for conditions like eczema or psoriasis. Its bold, grounding scent and rugged feel make it a staple in our most purifying, skin-loving bars.

#Raw Goat Milk - Fresh, raw goat milk has long been a gift from nature for nurturing the skin. Rich in gentle lactic acids, vitamins, and natural lipids, it deeply moisturizes while helping to soften and renew. Its creamy composition supports the skin’s natural barrier, soothes dryness, and delivers a feeling of lasting comfort. Unprocessed and full of life, raw goat milk brings a quiet kind of nourishment — leaving the skin feeling tender, supple, and restored.

*Natural Clays & Botanical Powders - We use thoughtful blends to bring both beauty and benefit to our soaps. Chicory Root Powder adds a warm, earthy tone while offering gentle exfoliation and skin-calming properties. Madder Root Powder, a vibrant plant-based colorant, lends soft rosy to brick-red hues and has been traditionally used to help soothe the skin. Purple Kaolin Clay provides a mineral-rich, mildly detoxifying boost with a soft mahogany tint, while White Kaolin Clay gently cleanses without stripping the skin—perfect for sensitive types. For contrast and deep cleansing, we use Activated Charcoal Powder, known for drawing out impurities, and Indigo Powder, a plant-based pigment that adds rich blue-gray tones with charcoal while supporting skin clarity. Together, these ingredients create a bar that’s as nourishing as it is visually striking.

**Organic Essential Oil Blend – A grounded mix of earthy Patchouli, warm Cedarwood, calming Lavender, and smoky-sweet Amyris—each chosen for its skin-loving and aromatic benefits. Patchouli soothes and balances, especially for dry or irritated skin, while cedarwood offers a clarifying touch with its subtle woodsy depth. Lavender brings gentle floral notes and calming support for both skin and senses, and amyris, often called “West Indian Sandalwood,” rounds it out with a soft, balsamic warmth. Together, this blend evokes the scent of aged woods, fresh air, and slow Southern evenings—clean, grounding, and naturally unforgettable.

*Natural Sodium Lactate - a natural, liquid salt derived from the fermentation of sugars, often from corn or beets. In soap making, it plays a vital role in producing a firm, long-lasting bar by hardening the soap. Beyond structural benefits, sodium lactate also helps retain moisture, ensuring the soap remains gentle and nourishing on the skin. It's a must-have ingredient for achieving a creamy, luxurious texture without compromising quality or performance.

***Each cold-processed soap is created through the traditional saponification process, which transforms natural oils into soap using our raw goat milk and lye (sodium hydroxide) or distilled water. This essential process binds the oils and lye, resulting in a gentle yet powerful cleansing bar. Once fully cured, no lye remains in the final product—only pure, skin-friendly soap that effectively cuts through grease while being safe and natural for everyday use. Please also note, each bar may differ a bit in color, shape and size, and are cured for at least 4 to 6 weeks to ensure a harder, longer-lasting bar with a rich, creamy lather. This extended curing time allows excess moisture to evaporate, resulting in a milder, more effective soap that cleans beautifully while remaining gentle on your skin. A well-cured soap bar not only lasts longer but also improves in quality over time, providing the best possible experience with every use.***

Directions for Use: Lather the bar between your hands or on a washcloth with warm water. Massage onto damp skin and rinse clean. For longer-lasting bars, store soap on a well-draining soap dish and allow it to dry between uses. Perfect for: Daily face and body use, especially for those who love earthy, detoxifying, and visually striking soaps.
